Developing the Nordic biomethanol production and infrastructure for green shipping

Project 2025 Active

Building on 15 years of bio-methanol R&D and 5 years of cross-border value chain development, the project unites partners across energy, shipping, and forestry sectors. The project’s main activity is s to prepare a strong consortium with affiliated stakeholders and organisations, who support a strong and cross-border coherent rollout for bio-e-methanol production and infrastructure, including biowaste gasification and hydrogen boosting technologies, as well as off-takers that will demonstrate a highly sought after and attractive end product through operations with biomethanol as fuel in the coming years.. The goal is to meet rising demand from green shipping in the Nordic region and beyond.
