Nordic Network for Electric Aviation (NEA 2.0)

Project 2023 - 2026 Active

The overall mission for NEA is to speed up the implementation of electric aviation in the Nordics. Groundwork is being done by NEA to make intra-Nordic and cross-border electric aviation routes possible, with the benefit of true zero air mobility to the people and businesses in the Nordic regions.

Over the past three years, NEA has enabled personal and professional lines of communication, in order to speed up collaboration between stakeholders of interest. Today, NEA is a fully functioning Nordic community of practice, gathering expertise in the field of electric aviation.

NEA (2.0) will work on the following:

  • Create a decision support system that will enable stakeholders to optimize infrastructure, operations and human factors for the future of electric aviation. This will be done by building a tool set that let us simulate future scenarios
  • Prepare destinations for electric aircraft by mapping out necessary infrastructure changes
  • Evaluate safety and security requirements, adapt and prepare requirements for electric aviation
  • Easing the implementation of electric aviation in the Nordics through focused communication activities, specifically aimed toward policy makers, technology providers, broader industry stakeholders, investors as well as customers

Target groups

The main activities in this project are aimed towards important actors in the aviation industry. A difference from NEA 1.0 is that airports, as well as governmental institutes and businesses, are given a bigger role in NEA 2.0.
