“It is with great enthusiasm I join the Nordic Innovation team. It feels truly meaningful to get a chance to work with topics that are key to the development and fundamental change of our Nordic societies. Our role is to drive innovation and ensure that the Nordic region is a global leader in sustainable growth. We collaborate with industry and other stakeholder groups on topics ranging from enabling technologies and deep tech to systemic change to promote a circular economy. This all happens against the current backdrop of a shifting technology landscape and a focus on building competitiveness. What could possibly be more motivating than working knee-deep in this?” says Sindre S. Bornstein, Managing Director of Nordic Innovation.
A time of change
Sindre joins Nordic Innovation at a time of change. From January 2025, Nordic Innovation embarked on a new mission as part of the Nordic Co-operation Programme for Sustainable Growth 2025-2030. The program is decided by the Nordic Ministers of Trade and Industry and will be implemented over two, three-year work plans: 2025-2027 and 2028-2030.
Nordic Innovation’s mission for the period 2025-2027 is described in the work plan for the business sector. The work plan outlines three focus areas to be prioritized by the sector. The three focus areas are setting the overall frames for Nordic Innovation’s work from 2025-2027.
The three focus areas are:
- Promote green and innovative solutions
- Digital solutions, use of data and data sharing
- Strengthened cooperation on improved access to financing and internationalization
Under each focus area, Nordic Innovation is currently developing more concrete innovation areas. More information will follow soon.
