We are happy to finally launch our three new programs for 2025-2027. Sindre Bornstein, Managing Director at Nordic Innovation explains:
“Our role is to be a catalyst and enabler in the Nordic Prime Ministers’ vision of making the Nordics the world’s most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030. As 2030 is approaching very fast, we see a need to act with urgency in the green transition and in how our region approaches technology as a means to building competitiveness. At the same time, a rapidly changing world requires us to go beyond 2030 and develop solutions and apply for instance deep tech to make the Nordic region more robust in the longer term."
"The aim of the three new programs is to approach these challenges by accelerating the use of green solutions, develop long term innovation and strengthen Nordic competitiveness,” adds Sindre Bornstein.
The three programs
Innovative Solutions for 2030
The aim of this program is to accelerate the introduction of solutions for the green transition towards 2030 and contribute to systemic change towards more sustainable and biobased economies.
The focus in this program is on reaching vision 2030 of making the Nordics the most sustainable and integrated region in the world. 2030 is just around the corner and the focus in the program is therefore on innovative solutions that can accelerate the green transition as quickly as possible.
Nordic Forward: Resilience and Competitiveness for 2050
The aim of this program is to strengthen the Nordic region’s long-term competitiveness and resilience through the application of new technologies, deep-tech and new collaboration structures. The program will support ecosystems and value chain collaboration to solve global and Nordic societal challenges and achieve impact at a systemic level.
Nordic Growth and Capital Attraction
The aim of this program is to strengthen Nordic companies’ international opportunities and access to financing.
The focus in the program is two-fold. One part of the program focuses on internationalization of Nordic companies and scaling of Nordic sustainable solutions internationally. The other part focuses on accelerating access to private and public capital for Nordic companies.
Call for project outlines: Green and Competitive Nordic Region
Nordic Innovation is also announcing a Call for Project Outlines to get input for the new programs. The Call for Project Outlines is aimed at program one and program two:
Innovative Solutions for 2030: The proposed projects should help speed up the green transition, demonstrating measurable effects by 2030. Possible outputs include new solutions, partnerships, value chains, or business models. Priority will be given to projects that contribute to faster commercialization of new solutions, as well as to projects that demonstrate a high level of market readiness.
Nordic Forward: Resilience and competitiveness for 2050: Under this program we are looking for projects for the transition to a more sustainable, integrated, resilient and competitive Nordic region, where strengthened collaboration, use of technology and data are essential drivers. The projects should have a longer time horizon and provide solutions beyond 2030. Possible outcomes include tech-driven cross border ecosystems and value chains, business opportunities and ventures. Priority will be given to projects that demonstrate high potential impact in the longer term.
Available funding:
200.000 NOK for up to 20 early-stage Nordic projects

This call will be the first out of two calls. Organizations selected in the first call will be given grant funding to develop a project idea and assemble Nordic consortia to carry out the projects.
These consortia can then apply for full-scale funding to realize their projects in the second call. The second call for proposals will be announced in Autumn 2025 and will also be open to entities that do not participate in this first step.
