Circular economy approaches can help businesses seize new opportunities and gain a competitive advantage, as well as contribute to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
This year the WCEF is held 15-18 April at the SQUARE Brussels Meeting Centre in Brussels, Belgium.
After last year’s successful forum in Helsink, WCEF move to continental Europe and Brussels, Belgium. Throughout two days of program, and two days of accelerator sessions we will be zooming in e.g., on finance, food, biodiversity, building materials, metrics, mining and energy, as well as road maps, trade and value chains, engaging top level discussion. All while focusing on circular solutions for nature and the economy. Last year Nordic Innovation co-hosted the World Circular Economy Forum 2023 together with the Finnish Innovation Fund, Sitra. This year we participate as a partner.

About the forum
World Circular Economy Forum is a global initiative of Finland and the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra. The forum brings together business leaders, policymakers and experts from around the world to discuss circular roadmaps, showcase circular economy solutions and discuss how to scale the circular economy for people, businesses and planet. The purpose is to look at how companies can develop their businesses and sustain their competitiveness through circular economy solutions, and how the circular economy contributes to achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
World Circular Economy Forum is the most important international platform in the transition to circular economy with partners and participants from EU, UN and other international organizations within circular economy. An important mission for the forum has been inclusion and global reach in order to maximize impact. This year we also aim to put Nordic solutions and cooperation on the agenda.
WCEF and Nordic Innovation
We have supported World Circular Economy Forum since 2018, as a part of Nordic Innovations Circular Business Models program. The program is one of the eight initiatives launched by the five Nordic ministers of trade and industry, to make the Nordics the most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030.
The aim of the program is to accelerate the transition to a circular economy in the Nordics and to develop the Nordics further as agile frontrunners within circular economy and circular business models.
Physical attendance during WCEF2024 will be by invite only, but you can follow the whole program via stream online and the WCEF app.
