The LOOP Ventures pilot ran from 2018-2019. In 2020, the project group expanded and the concept was adjusted on the background of learnings from the pilot period.
During the three-year project period, the project partners have met with more than 200 Nordic companies, hosted 22 events with over 1200 participants and generated 37 circular business model pilot ideas together with Nordic companies. Three new product solutions that are now available at the market have been supported by the program and it has reached over 300.000 impressions on social media and over 3.500 engagements with posts.
Project purpose
The project brought together people from various backgrounds in the Nordics to identify and pilot circular business models. The aim was to support and accelerate the move from traditional linear business models into circular. LOOP was helping companies to accelerate the move to circularity by creating new business ideas and piloting them with lean methods.
The objective of the LOOP Ecosystem was to create a Nordic-wide concept for piloting and scaling circular economy business models. In practice it means helping companies to identify, test, pilot and scale circular business models with Nordic partners. The LOOP ecosystem was inviting and recruiting Nordic large and mid-sized companies to take part in the activities. The core of the ecosystem has been to share learnings and connect people across Nordic borders, to bring value and to speed the circular transition.
In the LOOP Ventures ecosystem the focus has been on the domains of textiles, logistics, packaging, food and construction. Life circle prolonging, recycling, product as a service, circular supply chain and sharing platforms have been key areas for piloting.
LOOP Labs
During Spring and Summer 2020, LOOP Labs were held in Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway. The LOOP Labs gathered professionals from diverse backgrounds around specific themes in circular economy. The events led to concrete actionable circular economy ideas. The aim of LOOP Labs was to identify circular business models development that could be piloted together.
