123 applications received under ’Call for project outlines’

The Call for Project Outlines for a Green and Competitive Nordic region marks the first stage of a two-step funding model designed by Nordic Innovation to foster a broader Nordic innovation collaboration and to help developing the strategic guidelines for upcoming priorities.

In spring 2025, Nordic Innovation launched new innovation programs for 2025-2027. As a part of this launch, a new call process was introduced to gather ideas and input for shaping two of the three programs: Innovative Solutions for 2030 and Nordic Forward: Resilience and Competitiveness for 2050. The two-step call process has been used in previous programs. However, this call is distinguished by its extensive scope and focus on strategic development.

The approach has already shown promising results:

“We are pleased and proud to see that we have received so many applications in the first step of the call. We have designed this method to engage a wider Nordic audience, increase accessibility and reach organizations that are often difficult to involve. We are very satisfied with the 123 applications received, and we are now looking forward to reviewing them one by one,” says Sindre Bornstein, Managing Director at Nordic Innovation.

Up to 20 selected projects will each receive NOK 200.000 in funding. The organizations will then have three months to develop their project ideas and establish Nordic consortia to implement the projects.

These consortia can then apply for full-scale funding in the second step of call process. The second call for proposals will be announced in autumn 2025 and will also be open to new applicants who did not participate in the first round.

Applicants will receive further information by the end of June.
