"I am pleased to welcome Sindre as Managing Director of Nordic Innovation and look forward to leveraging his expertise in innovation and green transition. Sindre comes directly from a position focusing on the blue economy and green transition - two crucial areas for the Nordic Council of Ministers," says Karen Ellemann, Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
Experience from both private and public sectors
Sindre previously held the position of Vice President, Digital & Decarbonization, at VPS, Veritas (Oslo), where he was commercially responsible for VPS’s initiatives to reduce CO2 emissions from ships. Prior to that, he worked for Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including the Prime Minister’s Office and as Consul at the Norwegian Consulate in San Francisco.
“When I worked in San Francisco, I had the pleasure of working closely with Nordic Innovation House in Palo Alto and saw firsthand that the Nordics are a strong brand in an extremely competitive market. Together, we built something that delivered results, particularly within Nordic startup and scale-up. It’s among other those types of innovative initiatives I want to be more involved in,” says Sindre S. Bornstein, and continues:
“I am deeply committed to Nordic and international collaboration and recognize the importance of an innovative business sector to create sustainable development and solutions to global societal challenges. The Nordic region has a unique position and a strong voice internationally. I look forward to contributing to further develop this together with the team at Nordic Innovation, in close cooperation with the Nordic Council of Ministers, and with my new sister organizations.”
We look forward to welcoming Sindre to Nordic Innovation!
