The health issue and especially the exchange of health data has been actualized the last year and a half during the COVID pandemic. The Nordic region is digitally at the forefront, and a pioneering region when it comes to digital development. The Nordic countries also have strong welfare states with solid public health systems. In combination, there are great opportunities for Nordic co-operation.
Nordic Innovation runs two programs on health:
Life Science and Health Tech (2021–2024)
Health, Demgraphy and Quality of Life (2018–2021)
The health care services in the five Nordic countries are among the top 20 best health care services in the world. The population in the Nordics is technologically advanced. Both facts are great starting points for innovation in the health sector.

Nordic Innovation works to facilitate the sharing of health data, but why do we need to share health data in the Nordics region – and can we do it in a secure way?
In the first of the four episodes on health innovation in the Nordics, Inga Godø from Microsoft Norway, and Nordic Innovation's Rasmus Malmborg and Thordur Reynisson Innovation talks about the benefits of sharing health data matter and how we can do it technically.
