LOOP Forum: Circularity in Shipping and the Maritime Industry

vand der går i ring

This session dives into the possibilities of a circular economy in shipping and the challenges that are slowing down the adoption of circular principles in the maritime industry. With a focal point on circular value drivers, the session will address specific challenges and showcase examples of solutions from across the maritime value chain while discussing key trends and tendencies.

When: 30 April, 09.15-12.15
Where: LOOP Forum, Roundtable Stage

The session will compare different challenges across the value chain as well as with those in other industries and examine one of the fundamental barriers: collaboration and data sharing across the ecosystem. Finally, the session will discuss how to move forward and, through an ecosystem approach, begin designing vessels and products for circularity—including the operational and business model changes necessary to achieve this.

Ultimately, the session aim to develop a clearer understanding of the overall opportunities and challenges in the circular economy and leave participants with insights on where individual innovation is needed and where sectors, industries, and value chains must come together to collaborate.

The session is organized by Den Danske Maritime Fond, Danske Maritime & Green Ship of the Future.

Nordic Innovation will take part in a discussion about: “How circular business models can create value in the maritime industry. Introduction to the Nordic Circular Economy Playbook.”
