Sustainable Tourism in Nordic Harbor Towns 2020

The development of sustainable tourism in the Nordics depends on technological innovation and collaboration between public and private actors in the region.
Dowload

For many Nordic harbor towns, the visit of a cruise ship poses challenges to their culture and environment. Despite these challenges, cruise tourism still holds the potential to provide an authentic experience for visitors in a way that develops and strengthens local businesses, communities and environments.

This booklet discusses the challenges within sustainable tourism in the Nordics and outlines the vision and methods for Nordic Innovation's project on sustainable cruise ship tourism in the Nordic region.

Background

In 2019 Nordic Innovation initiated a project called Sustainable Tourism in Nordic Harbor Towns. This booklet is based on the report from the pre-project and produced by Green Innovation Group.
