Nordic Marine Innovation Programme 2.0

Nordic Marine Innovation Programme 2.0 was initiated to increase business opportunities, sustainability and profitability in the Nordic marines sector through cross-border cooperation. The programme ran from 2015 to 2018.

The Nordic Marine Innovation Programme 2.0 is a continuation of the Nordic Marine Innovation Programme, which was the first of its kind to bring the Nordic marine industry together. The increased demand from the industry for further Nordic cooperation in the marine sector resulted in an additional eight projects coordinated by Nordic Innovation.

 

The 2.0 Programme set out to increase business opportunities, sustainability and profitability in the Nordic marine sector through cross-border cooperation.

A wide range of industrial actors and researchers from all over the Nordics came together and developed new solutions, that otherwise would not have come to life, which will enhance the Nordic marine sector.

The projects have received a total amount of MNOK 62.9. Nordic Innovation contributed with MNOK 23.8, Innovation Norway with MNOK 4.8, Rannis - The Icelandic Center for Research with MNOK 1.5, and the Nordic Working Group for Fisheries Co-operation with MNOK 1.2.

 

Other members of the funding consortium are the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Denmark; Ministry of Fisheries, Faroe Islands; Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Finland; Ministry of Industries and Innovation, Iceland; Swedish Board of Agriculture; Nordic Atlantic Co-operation.
