Rising North’s first application deadline for 2018 is coming up soon!

The Rising North Fund is preparing for the final year of funding and the first deadline is just around the corner.

The Rising North Fund is looking to fund both short-term and long-term projects that help Nordic start-ups thrive. It seeks to increase collaboration between the Nordic countries as well as spread awareness around the Nordic brand. The Fund is part of a priority project program started under the Finnish Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers 2016, which is now entering its final year of funding. Application deadline: March 1st.

The goal of Rising North is to fund projects that will help the Nordic start-up ecosystem further develop as a globally leading ecosystem. Projects organized jointly by organizations from at least three different Nordic countries can apply for a grant of up to 50 000€.

The deadline for the first application for funding in 2018 is on March 1st.

Previously funded projects

So far, Rising North has funded 26 different projects ranging from trips like the #NordicMade NYC to supporting the Nordic.AI Festival. The trip to New York City brought selected Nordic startup ecosystem actors to New York City to connect with their local counterparts in the U.S. The festival, organized this spring in Copenhagen, brought together some of the brightest minds within the AI and ML community to share knowledge and foster new connections.

About the Rising North Fund

The Rising North Fund seeks to help Nordic startups become global leaders by financing unique spearhead projects and initiatives organized jointly by Nordic organizations.  The 1,5M EUR fund is operated by the Startup Foundation, which is a non-profit founded in 2012 to support entrepreneurship and startups. The three-year fund aims to support 8-16 projects and initiatives per year, and gives out grants of 5 000 - 50 000 EUR.
