Nordic Innovation will continue support for Nordic Innovation House in Silicon Valley.

– Following the success of the Nordic Innovation House in Silicon Valley (NIH), Nordic innovation will increase its support to the project, to further develop the platform in the Valley, says managing director at Nordic Innovation, Roger Bjørgan.

Nordic Innovation House is a co-working and virtual office for Nordic tech companies, investors and local advisers. It provides a soft landing concept for Nordic entrepreneurs entering the U.S. market, helping them tap into the community of technology partners, investors and service providers.

NIH is co-funded by Nordic Innovation and the Nordic countries government agencies responsible for business growth within their respective countries: Innovation Norway, Vinnova, Team Finland, Innovation Center Denmark and Innovation Center Iceland.

Stronger co-operation

Due to the success of the Nordic collaboration in Silicon Valley, NIH has increased and intensified the joint activities around the collaboration.

NIHs increased activity to be funded by Nordic Innovation will fall within a range of activities. The aim is to step up promotion and communication, building stronger scaling programs, improve access to San Francisco accelerators and to strengthen the administrative and legal help.

Inspiration for Nordic cooperation

– Nordic Innovation House has been a great inspiration for Nordic cooperation. This success has spurred interest by national institutions and other stakeholders in various locations. We need to follow up on that interest, says director of communication at Nordic innovation, Bárdur Örn Gunnarsson.

After a successful #NordicMade event in New York city with Nordic startups, the institutions present there are looking to form a closer collaboration, inspired by Nordic Innovation House.

Nordic Innovation has also signed an agreement to open a Nordic Innovation Incubator in the United Arabic Emirates (UAE).
