Nordic Innovation gathers business leaders to build a Nordic ecosystem for high-growth companies.

Nordic Innovation has initiated the first ever Nordic level acceleration and coaching program targeted at potential high growth companies. The vision is clear: to make the Nordic region leading not only for starting up businesses, but also for growth and development of companies.

The Nordic Scalers Program is funded and coordinated by Nordic Innovation and run by a Nordic consortium of private actors co-lead by Epicenter Stockholm and Rainmaking Copenhagen. The first ever Nordic scale-up summit will take place on the 14th of March at Epicenter Stockholm, where unicorns such as Spotify were located in the early days of their journeys.

-We are very excited to bring leading Nordic CEOs, investors, entrepreneurs and key decisionmakers together here in Stockholm to share experiences and recipes for successfully scaling a business globally, says Adrian McDonald COO of Result Epicenter Stockholm.

Amongst the speakers are: Jimmy Wales, Founder of Wikipedia; Anna Bennich Karlstedt, Psychologist, Author and TV Personality; Morten Lund, Entrepreneur and investor; and Veronica Hedenmark, Chairman and founder of VH Assistans, and many more. Serial Entrepreneur and Nordic Scalers-coach, Ola Ahlvarson will be the host of the day.

Scale-up companies generates more growth than start-ups

The Nordic economies are depending on creating new sources of growth for the 21st century. Scale-up companies create jobs and revenue, and they account for a significant proportion of growth in national outputs. While the Nordic region is increasingly being recognized as a start-up hub, it is struggling to scale these companies.

-Scale-ups meets different challenges than start-ups. Frankly, they are completely different creatures, which is why we have initiated this program, says Anna-Maija Sunnanmark at Nordic Innovation.

There are clear benefits to cooperating on a Nordic level. The Nordic region is the 11th largest economy in the world with a population of 26 million people. By creating a Nordic ecosystem for scale-ups, we are better equipped to address the challenges these companies are faced with.

- It makes sense to work on a Nordic level when it comes to scale-ups. Also,

the synergies created with this form of cooperation are invaluable, we see it all the time in our projects at Nordic Innovation, Sunnanmark says.
