In order to discuss policy initiatives that can strengthen the Nordic region's position in the global division of labour and secure jobs, The Nordic Council of Ministers and Nordic Innovation hosted the conference Nordic Growth through Export on April 3, 2014 in Copenhagen.

A fresh study from the five Nordic statistical bureaus, linking export statistics to company databases, gives new detailed insight into how the Nordic countries are preforming globally, where export jobs are lost and who has managed to adapt to the crisis.

At the conference various aspects of three overall Nordic Export related challenges was discussed:

 • Challenge 1: How do we ensure job creation and export of products with high added value?
 • Challenge 2: How do we increase innovation, investment and internationalization of SMEs?
 • Challenge 3: How do we increase exports to the BRIC countries?

In order to discuss policy initiatives that can strengthen the Nordic region's position in the global division of labour and secure jobs, The Nordic Council of Ministers and Nordic Innovation invites you to take part in the conference Nordic Growth through Export on April 3, 2014 in Copenhagen.
The Nordic countries are losing ground in export markets, not least in the BRIC countries. 150.000 manufacturing jobs has disappeared within the export sector in the last five years, and the Nordic export strongholds are within primary products such as paper and fish, where the growth potential is low.
