The Norwegian State Secretary Kristine Gramstad opened the first Nordic Marine Innovation conference in Oslo 25th of January.
The Norwegian State Secretary's speech dealt the cooperation of fisheries under the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2012, and she said that she was pleased that Nordic Innovation has managed to establish a very impressive Marine Innovation program.
She also underlined that there is a need for growth in the marine sector, but that this growth must be channeled in a sustainable direction. New approaches are therefore required, and she highlighted the importance of innovation to set the development on a new path.
